World Day of Prayer, an event of informed prayer and social justice action, has taken place in nearly every nation since the nineteenth century. Concord area faith communities will hold their World Day of Prayer 2009 Service this year at The Trinitarian Congregational Church, 54 Walden Street, Concord on Friday, March 6th, at 11 a.m in the church's sanctuary followed by a festive luncheon at noon in the parish hall. All are invited. This year's service was written by the WDP Women of Papua New Guinea whose fascinating arts and highly diverse cultures and languages will be celebrated. Their crucial social and environmental needs will be highlighted as part of the event. Marion Thornton, Concord's 2008 Honored Citizen, who has visited Papua New Guinea will speak about life there.
