An authentic re-enactment of the Lincoln-Douglas debates
An original musical composition, commissioned especially for this event, and performed for the first time by librettist John Sterling Walker and David Conte, Profesesor of Composition and Conductor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music
Noted Lincoln scholars will speak on:
- Lincoln as depicted in photography and sculpture (Dr. Walter B. Lundberg, Jr., Yale University, Photography Consultant to the Metropolitan Museum of Art)
- Lincoln and the Abolition Movement (Dr. John Stauffer, Professor of English and African American Studies, Harvard University)
- Lincoln as a speechmaker (Dr. David Zarefsky, Professor of Communications, Northwestern University)
- Lincoln and Emerson (Richard Kotlarz, Lecturer on Transcendentalism)
- Lincoln and the concept of the self made man (James Lundberg, Sacred Heart University)
