Underwater Accolades I was delighted to read the fascinating September issue of the Concord Magazine. I was particularly intrigued by the article "Under Water Walden," written and photographed by Kristina Joyce. Kristina is a Hood College graduate, and her article exploring the plant and fish life at Walden Pond makes just the sort of connection between scientific curiosity and humanistic values which Hood seeks to cultivate in its students.
Your innovative magazine is a real find! With best wishes to you as you showcase the artists of Concord and the reflective spirit of Thoreau.
I am so pleased to come to Concord on the WWW. I lived in Maynard 1968 to 1981 and worked for Dr. Richard Gallagher at Emerson Hospital for 7 yrs before moving to Orlando, FL. Fran Reynolds, reynolf@ocps.k12.fl.us
I finally got a chance to read your October issue and must say "You've done it again!" Each of the several issues I've read has been delightful, but this month's is truly a visual feast. The Harvard piece was especially interesting. Strange to say, with all the historical reading I've done I had not ever heard about its having taken up temporary quarters in Concord. A particular distinction of The Concord Magazine, in my opinion, seems to be an ability to present articles about Concord, or by its residents, in ways which render them enjoyable to non-residents as well. With best wishes.....Loraine Ash, Revere, MA
My name is Virginia (Ginger) Hannah, formerly Perry, and also a former resident of Concord. I lived there from 4 years old on through my junior year in high school, at which time my family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where I still reside. Having spent as much time with my schoolmates (class of 1957) as one does, I remember them fondly as almost siblings and would be thrilled beyond words to be able to E-mail with any of them. This would include those who had attended Peter Bulkely. I was able to visit David Palamucci one year and barely missed seeing Steven Lamonakis. Also, I've lost touch with Sandra (Nickerson ) Willis, who I had been corresponding with and Kathy (Knight) Fallon. Please email me! Ginger Perry, hannah@primenet.com, Phoenix, AZ
