Happy New Year!

Concord at the Edge of the New Millennium

By Deborah Bier, publisher and editor of this ezine.

Blah blah blahAs we are blah blah blah on the eve of a blah blah blah new millennium, we blah blah ourselves and ask: "Is Concord ready to blah blah blah?" And we answer: "Just like the Minutemen at the North Bridge in 1775, blah blah blah blah. A new age dawns. Blah blah."

And the Concord Magazine is right here at the blah blah blah, spanning two millennia with blah blah blah. And we are grateful for the opportunity.

At a time like this, it is natural to look back on Concord's history of blah blah blah blah, and forward to a blah, blah blah blah, and blah future. Of course, it is not without blah blah blah that we wonder what the new blah blah millennium will hold. As Ralph Waldo Emerson maintained: "The day has come where we no longer have to blah, blah, blah blah blah, blah or blah." Hopefully he is right and we have outgrown that by now.

But, despite our progress, Concord cannot afford to be too blah blah blah. We must still blah blah blah blah, blah blah and blah. Henry David Thoreau was only too aware of this when he wrote in his journal "Blah blah blah blah blah. Blah blah Walden Pond. Blah." And this is still as true today as it was in his time.

Let it be remembered that blah and blah must blah blah blah, far into the future. Indeed: it is what our Minuteman statue stands for....it's the blah the patriots fought and died for. And for all the blah blah blah who haven't been yet born. Let us hope it will prove for them to be a more blah blah blah blah tomorrow.
