November Praise
I don't know how you do it, but "exceptional" seems to be the only word to use in describing each succeeding issue of The Concord Magazine. Such a wealth of graphics and such interesting articles. The varying colors and patterns make one feel as though reading it in a richly decorated room.

Before, many of us might have thought the word "Ogham" to be an old English surname. Now we know better! And we know a bit more about the humble and homely lead pencil. Of course I enjoyed Leslie Wilson's article on Transcendentalism, especially its place in a time of increasing industrialization. Great job! Best wishes - Loraine Ash

Danes and Concord
I thought the article about Swedes visiting the Concord Magazine online was fascinating.

What about Denmark? You know the Danes are very familiar with Thoreau, having come to his writings much as Gandhi and Martin Luther King did, appreciating CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE. In Denmark, in WWII/The Holocaust, the people hid Jews from the Nazis just as Henry had hid slaves along the Underground Railroad. For the Danes, the disobedient Thoreau was a beacon of light. - Tom Clark

Fall Color
I was trying to find information on the changing of the leaves and what month would be the best time??? Who would be the best person to E-mail for this information. Thanks for your help - Milton from Texas

Milton, our fall peak is usually in October. But WHEN in October is the question. Depending upon many factors (rainfall, temperatures, etc.), it can vary from early to late. Mid-month is a safe bet and who knows: you might get lucky and make the exact best time. But if you don't, we have many waves of color over several weeks to enjoy, each with its own splendor.

Color Co-Ordination
Always enjoy the magazine and the Website and am wonderfully appreciative of your contribution to our town...but I am having a hard time with some of the color combos!

The table of contents page is hard to read for me because of the color combinations. I'm not sure whether it's my machine or not. Also the left column of the Concord home page is hard to read with the grape background combined with the light green and purple letters.

I don't know whether others have that same experience, but thought I would let you know what it looks like for me. - Dan

Dan, you wouldn't believe how maddening this topic is! Even though we use the "safe" colors (that is, the ones which "should" display well on the Internet) there is enormous variety of how these actually look from monitor to monitor. What looks great on the three computers, two platforms, and two browsers we check these pages on may look awful in some combination we can't anticipate. Such is the glory and horror of the 'Net....

Please do let us know if there seems to be a problem. We can't promise to fix it (changing it may make it better for you but worse for someone else), but if we find there are numerous complaints about something, we will make a change.

You Make Us Blush!

Concord still has the best web page!!!!! - Chris

I love Concord. Been to your great town of Concord many times. My sister and her family live in Concord. It is rich in history and each time I'm there I enjoy it more and more. I'm glad I found you. - Vivian
We have just returned from our visit to Concord where my husband, 11 year old daughter and I ate turkey sandwiches on the bank of Walden Pond on a cloudy windy cool day. A most beautiful memory we will always have. Your site brings back many memories. Thank you! - Phyllis, Texas
Beautiful site! Makes me homesick for New England. We may be moving back and are looking into possible places to live. Your site was very helpful. - Perrysburg, OH
