By Concord art teacher Kristina Joyce and her students.
Local art students 8-18 years old -- all members of Kristina Joyce's after-school art classes -- spent the past year studying "Art in Motion." Their most recent assignment was the development of an original comic character. With Philip Glass's avant
guard music "Vessels" from Koyannisqatsi and John William's film scores in the background as inspiration, they learned pen and fluorescent paint, and dotting and cross-hatching techniques. To finish the
class, students ate jello with fresh
strawberries topped with whipped cream -- action foods all! Below is some of their work.
