The morning of Patriot's Day, 2000 was cold, cloudy and windy -- less than seasonably warm. The predicted overflow crowds from the big re-enactments over the weekend did not materalize (as can be seen below top left, a photo taken about 10 minutes before the start of the parade). But because of this being the 225th anniversary of Patriot's Day, the parade was longer and more grand than in typical years. There were greater than 50% more marchers than usual.
